Troubleshooting Guide: Scheduled Reporting

Are you having trouble receiving scheduled reports from the LiveIntent Platform?  We’ve included a few common reasons and workaround solutions below.

For any follow-up questions regarding your reporting data in the LiveIntent platform, please feel free to reach out to your account teams.

(1) Microsoft Office 16.10 – Outlook/Excel Incompatibility

Details: Microsoft released its latest Office version 16.10 recently. Whoever has updated both their Excel and Outlook to v16.10 will receive the alert message below when attempting to open up the CSV file from the Outlook email. This is 16.10 compatibility bug on Microsoft’s end.

Workaround Solution: For the time-being, you will need to download the attached CSV file and open the file from your desktop.

Looking forward: Microsoft is aware of this vendor/customer-wide issue, and they’re working to fix this bug in a future release.

(2) Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) – 10MB file size limitation

Details: LiveIntent's emailing service uses Amazon SES, which limits attachment file sizes to 10MBIf your scheduled report is greater than 10MB, Amazon SES will not send it.

Workaround Solution: Please see if you can cut down your report’s size, or connect to our public API to bypass the size limitation.

Looking forward: In the near future, we'll be releasing an email report delivery that bypasses the 10MB limit. Stay tuned for further details!

(3) Special Characters in the Report Name

DetailsLiveIntent’s API does not like it when you use special characters in your Report Name (we’re working on that), and scheduled reports will not go through.

  • Rejected special characters include !@#$%^&*()+={}\|/?’”:;<>,.
  • You can use hyphens ‘ – ’ and underscores ‘ _ ’.
  • An other special characters are invalid.

Workaround: Please avoid using special characters in your reports, and ensure that your existing scheduled reports don't contain any special characters.

Looking forward: We'll be adding messaging directly in the platform to inform you of this limitation when you're creating a new report.
