Newsletter Diagnostic Tool
This article walks through how to use the Newsletter Diagnostic tool in the LiveIntent Platform to troubleshoot errors in your newsletter. The tool is is helpful when you’re adding new LiveTags to a newsletter so you can check that tags are implemented correctly and quickly fix any issues if needed.
In the LiveIntent Platform, click ‘Inventory Manager’ on the navigation pane on the top of the screen.
When you’re in Inventory Manager, click ‘Newsletter Diagnostic’ on the panel on the left-hand side of the screen.

Media Group Overview

In the tool, first search by your media group. This will provide an overview of all the publishers and newsletters within that group.

Publishers
Under the ‘Publishers’ section, you will see each publisher name within that media group. In the ‘Newsletters with Errors’ column, you can see the number of newsletters with flagged errors over the last 30 days.
💡If you have multiple publishers under your media group: Click on the filter to the left of the publisher name to only show the newsletters associated with that publisher. |
In this section you can view all of your newsletters, or if you have multiple publishers, view newsletters by a specific publisher. The columns in this section show:
- Newsletter Name: Clicking on the newsletter name will bring you to the ‘Send Details’ screen to view the last send and troubleshoot any issues.
- Seeded: This column indicates if the LiveSeeds alias is subscribed to the newsletter.
- The LiveSeeds alias ensures that we receive every send of your newsletter and allows us to flag errors.
- If the column says ‘No,’ please make sure [email protected] is added to your newsletter distribution list.
💡Some newsletters have a small exclamation mark if the newsletter is seeded but a send hasn’t been seen in a while. Please reach out to your LiveIntent account team if you have any questions. |
- Send Status: This column notifies you of any errors in a newsletter send from the last 30 days. Errors are categorized by ‘Critical’ and ‘Essential.’
- Critical Errors: These are high priority and can prevent the newsletter from being activated.
- Essential Errors: These are low priority errors and do not prevent the newsletter from being activated, but fixing these errors can potentially increase your revenue.
Send Details
Click on the newsletter name to navigate to the ‘Send Details’ page. Here you can view your newsletter and troubleshoot any issues.

The ‘Send Details’ page has two columns:
- Errors: The Errors column on the left hand side shows the “Critical” and “Essential” errors to be addressed.
- Preview: This column shows your newsletter in two ways.
- Render: View the newsletter as it appears to readers.
- HTML: Review the HTML of the newsletter to help troubleshoot.
