LiveIntent’s integration with Segment enables you to deliver audiences created in Personas to LiveIntent for people-based marketing across email and web channels. The integration simplifies and automates the process for delivering audiences to LiveIntent’s platform, allowing you to bypass inserting new code and manual file uploads. This LiveIntent destination supports audiences generated using Segment Personas as a user property. To use this destination, you will need to have the Segment’s Business Tier plan which gives you access to Personas. The Segment Personas integration with LiveIntent uses the Event destination type. Segment customers can send user data created in Personas to LiveIntent for activation.

If you don’t have access to Personas but still want to send data to LiveIntent, you can use the Page, Screen, Track, Group, and Identify method calls. In this case, LiveIntent lets you build the LiveIntent Dynamic audiences based on these calls. For more information about sending your data through the method calls, please reach out to your LiveIntent customer success representative.


Getting Started

Whether you are using Personas to build new audiences or enrich profiles with new traits, you can send Audiences and Computed Traits through Personas to the LiveIntent destination. 

You can send audiences generated using Segment Personas to this destination as user property. If no corresponding audience exists in LiveIntent’s platform, one will be automatically created. When using the destination for Segment Personas audience, provide the name of the audience in the settings.


Adding LiveIntent destination

Perform the following steps when adding the LiveIntent destination.

  1. From the Destinations catalog page in the Segment App, click Add Destination.
  2. Search for LiveIntent in the Destinations Catalog, and select the LiveIntent Audiences destination.
  3. Choose which Source should send data to the LiveIntent Audiences destination.
  4. Enter the API Key and AppId that you received from LiveIntent in the LiveIntent Audiences destination settings in Segment. In case this destination is used for a Personas audience, also add the name of the audience in the settings.
